Carrara quarrieson Oscar night. The film ‘The Brutalist‘ directed by Brady Corbet and filmed between Bettogli and the city’s historic center won three statuettes out of ten nominations on Oscar night: best cinematography, best soundtrack, and especially best leading actor to Adrien Brody, in his second Oscar after ‘The Pianist’ received more than two decades ago. And it is thanks to Brody and his friendship with Apuan entrepreneur Gualtiero Vanelli that director Corbet chose the marble quarries as his location.
